How do I Install or upgrade my SolidNetWork License Server?
After downloading SolidWorks 2012, double click Setup.exe from the Download folder. The Installation Manager will open.
Select Server products and “Install SolidNetWork License Manager”. Click Next.
Enter Serial Numbers separated by a comma, (no space)
Click Next
The Summary section lets you select the installation location. We recommend installing to the default directory.
SolidWorks 2012 SP0 and SP1 users: you will need to download SP 2.0 of the SolidNetWork License Manager. Approximately 34MB will download automatically.
Once the files have been downloaded, you will be prompted to allow or postpone the installation.
If left alone, Installation will commence:
Once the Installation is complete, click Finish.
Next, you need to Activate the Server.
Start>SolidWorks 2012 > SolidWorks Tools > SolidNetWork License Manager
It may detect that you need to activate. If it does, click Yes.
If it does not, Click Modify
Select Activate/reactivate a software license.
Click Next.
If a firewall is NOT in use in the server, leave “A firewall is use on this server” UN-checked.
Computer name should be filled in with the name of the Server computer.
Port number should be 25734.
Click Next
If a firewall IS in use on the server, click here.
Enter your email address. Keep “Automatically over the Internet” selected.
Click Next
Confirmation of a successful Activation
Configuring the Client:
During installation, after entering your serial number beginning with 0010…, you will be prompted for the port and server name. enter
25734@<server_name>
Click OK
Continue with installation as usual.
