I am trying to activate an existing study that I ran some time ago. When I click on the TAB for the study at the bottom of the Solidworks desktop, the study folders do not appear in the Feature Manager. Why?
This problem is new in Solidworks 2009. What has happened is that the lower half of the Feature Manager, containing the Study folders, has gotten collapsed into a thin splitter-bar line at the bottom of the screen. Hover your cursor over the thin double-barred line at the bottom of the Feature Manager, and you will be able to drag the pane back to size.
How did this happen in the first place? If you are in the middle of a Sim study, and you create new CAD geometry, or edit an existing feature or sketch, this causes the feature Manager to expand the upper portion of the panel, (so you can see the new feature), but in doing so it also collapses the lower (Simulation) panel. You can prevent this. Prior to editing a feature or a sketch, or adding new Cad features, manually click on and activate the MODEL tab. Then that particular Simulation study tab will not get collapsed.
