A license file and dongle is no longer needed to set up your SolidNetWork License Server!
1. Uninstall any previous versions of the SolidNetWork License Administrator
2. Install the SolidNetWork License Administrator 2010
3. From the Server Administration tab, click Modify… to activate the license server
4. Install SolidWorks onto client machines using your serial number beginning with 0010…
(Once you type in your serial number, it will recognize that as a network
installation, and lead you to select a license server. Leave the default port number
as is; it will match with the default number used in the SNL Administrator
installation.)
Note that Windows NT support was discontinued with SolidWorks 2005.
Complete Instructions for SolidNetwork License Setup 2010
1) Insert SolidWorks 2010 DVD. The SolidWorks Installation Manager will start up.
2) Select “Administrative Image and Server products”
Deselect “Create or update an Administrative Image
Select “Install SolidNetWork License Manager"
Click Next
3) Enter your Serial Number beginning in 0010…
Click Next
4) The SolidNetWork License Manager Setup Wizard opens.
Click Next
5) If you have additional network serial numbers, you may enter then on this screen, separated by a comma”,”
6) Click Next through the next few screens to accept the default values.
7) Click Finish to complete the SNL Manager Setup Wizard
8) And click Finish to close the SolidWorks Installation Manager
9) Go to Start>Program Files>SolidWorks 2010 >SolidWorks Tools> SolidNetWork License Manager
Click Modify to begin the Activation process for the server. (This replaces the old dongle and license file)
10) Select Activate/Reactivate a software license.
Click Next
11) Enter the server or computer name and leave the port number as 25734.
(You may use port 25735 if port 25734 is not available)
Click Next
12) Enter your e-mail address.
Click Next
13) The Product Activation Manager will connect to the SolidWorks Activation Portal and grant the appropriate number of licenses for the serial number(s) entered.

Click Finish to close the Activation Manager.
Congratulations! You have successfully setup your SolidNetWork License Server.
Client Setup
1)
Open the SolidNetWork License Manager -> Click on the Server List tab -> Click “Add”
2) Type in the port number and server name -> Click OK.
3) Verify that the client can reach the server.-> Click on the “License Usage” tab and select the server to display the list of licenses.
