Rapid Prototyping Corner

Rapid Prototyping - What's the buzz?

Why do so many customers count their Dimension 3D printer as a valuable member of their design team? Harmon Becker Automotive Systems depends on their machine to run 24 hours a day to create functional models from a robust output material that would not fracture, distort or require too much refining and cleaning up prior to fitting - the ABS plastic suited their needs perfectly.  See the printer in action - signup today for a local demonstration or request a free tradeshow pass this fall and find out how the Dimension can streamline your design process.

Hot Tech Tips

KAP’s Corner -“Synchronizing the Toolbox Library”

Have you ever tried to open a coworker's assembly, only to find that all of the fasteners in his assembly have defaulted to some huge size? Have you ever taken work home over the weekend, and found that when you open an assembly on your home computer, some of the fasteners have become substituted for different, seemingly random sizes? These problems stem from sharing data that reference more than one Toolbox fastener library. This installment of KAP's Corner will show you why these problems occur, and how to avoid them in the future. Synchronizing the Toolbox Library (PDF)

"A lot of design firms are big on surprise. We are anti-surprise. We aim to impress not surprise. That's why we brought our prototype production shop inhouse. Having the ability to develop 3 or 4 different solutions to a problem and present them to the client, actually have them hold them in their hand, has given us the edge to ensure customer satisfaction and improve our time to market.

"Of course, having the right tools to meet the needs of our clients is critical to our success and the Dimension 3D modeler has changed the way we develop products. CAP has been there to support us - providing the software and training to keep Helix on the forefront of technology in our industry." - Joe Schappler, Principal, Helix Design Services
