JOB TITLE: Rapid Prototyping System Support Specialist

LOCATION: Peabody MA or Westborough MA or Manchester, NH

DESCRIPTION: Dimension 3D Printers build usable parts out of ABS plastic from 3D CAD data. The system has an on-board computer, as well as a number of mechanical systems: linear bearings, toothed belts, heaters, fans, an extrusion head, servo motors, magnetic and mechanical limit switches, and control electronics. We have an immediate opening for a person to provide field maintenance and repair for our customers. After introductory training at CAPINC you will be sent to Stratasys Corp. in Minnesota for the one week service training course. You will also install new systems at customer locations in five New England states. You will also provide initial training to the customer on the system and related software.

CAPINC is the exclusive New England dealer for Dimension rapid prototyping machines from Stratasys. Our Dimension business is growing very rapidly and there will be further opportunities for advancement. We have been in business since 1990 and have three offices in New England. You may work out of our Peabody, MA or Westborough, MA office, but will also provide support for our Manchester, NH office.


QUALIFICATIONS: You should have very strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and experience. Computer hardware or industrial equipment maintenance experience is a plus. You must also be able to communicate with the customer effectively face-to-face and on the phone and document service calls in our database.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: This is an entry-level position. However, you should have some relevant work or military experience. Strong ASVAB scores, vocational-technical training, or an Associate degree in a related technical field are strong plusses. You will need a driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to move the machines for service on your own as required. You will work on your own most of the time.

COMPENSATION: Salary plus performance bonus. Major medical, long-term disability, and life insurance benefit (80% supported by company). Company vehicle provided for travel, or mileage reimbursement. Company laptop and cell phone. Two weeks paid vacation per year to start.

JOB TITLE: SolidWorks Account Manager

LOCATIONWestborough MA | W. Springfield MA | Meriden CT

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for speaking to customers and prospective customers over the phone and in person. Responsible for the entire sales cycle, including gathering customer information and requirements; qualifying and following up with prospects; scheduling product demonstrations; and product installations and on-site training. Assist with operation of training center. You will receive extensive professional sales training.

Duties include:

  • Sales Lead follow-up.
  • Outbound calling for lead generation for SolidWorks, CosmosWorks, PDMWorks and related services and training.
  • Outbound calling for seminars, promotions, and other special programs.
  • Coordinate scheduling of engineers for demonstrations and sales events.
  • Work with marketing staff and SolidWorks Corp. to increase sales and awareness of CAPINC and SolidWorks in the sales territory.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate database of activity.
  • Provide detailed monthly revenue forecasts to management.
  • Oversee the customer’s relationship with CAPINC.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two to four years of successful high tech sales experience. High technology or software sales experience a strong plus, especially CAD, CAE or PDM applications.

EDUCATION: BA or BS Degree is required. BS in Business, Engineering or other technology areas a strong plus. Maritime Academy or other military experience in highly desirable.

REQUIREMENTS: Consistent track record of achievement. At least two years successful sales experience. Excellent telephone communications skills. Proficiency with PC word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Experience with contact management software. Proven ability to learn new industry requirements. Knowledge of the product development process. Ability to function with minimal direct supervision; possess superior organizational/time management skills; display a positive, can-do attitude. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively in the region. U.S. citizen.

COMPENSATION: Base salary plus commission and bonuses. Reimbursement for related automobile and office expenses.

JOB TITLE: PDMWorks Applications Engineer

LOCATION: Manchester NH, and other CAPINC offices.

DESCRIPTION: Work with customers to provide implementation of PDMWorks Enterprise products; map and define manufacturing, engineering and product development processes; and use CAPINC best practices guidelines to increase productivity, reduce cost and create an improved product development process for our customers. Help define detailed requirements, solution scope, and critical business milestones for customer success. Act as technical lead and project manager to complete the implementation phase.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other discipline.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Ability to communicate at all levels with customers and team members.
• Industry experience in a technology / engineering role.
• Programming skills with any of the following: Visual Basic and SQL a plus.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project, and Excel.
• SolidWorks experience a strong plus.
• PDM/PLM implementation/use a strong plus.
• Hardware experience (servers, networks, storage devices) a strong plus.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years engineering industry experience preferred.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent.

REQUIREMENTS: Communication skills are of utmost importance, to include: technical writing, phone etiquette, public speaking, instruction, customer relations, team coordination, and sales support. The best candidate will be self-guided, quick to learn, cooperative, and polite. Creative problem-solving skills are a necessity. Above-average knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products is required.
Some New England travel is an inherent part of the job, to meet with customers on-site and to conduct events in NH, MA, ME, VT, RI and CT.

COMPENSATION: Base salary commensurate with related experience, plus incentive bonus schedule. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
