Do you have large assemblies which currently exceed the 32 bit Windows 2GB memory limit? SolidWorks plans to launch its 2006 x64 Beta Program later this month.

All subscription customers meeting the SolidWorks 2006 x64 minimum hardware requirements will be eligible.

To register for the x64 bit Beta Program, please visit: http://beta.solidworks.com/

For more information on SolidWorks® 2006 x64 Edition please refer to:

SolidWorks extends DWGgateway publishing capability to support Adobe PDF

The DWGgateway™ data translation tool, which early this year solved compatibility issues between older and newer versions of AutoCAD® software, now offers the ability to publish AutoCAD designs in the popular Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). This new capability, available free today, makes it easy for design engineers to share designs with anyone, regardless of whether the recipient has AutoCAD software. The recipient needs only free Adobe® Reader® software , nearly as common on desktops as a Web browser.

SolidWorks Design Contest

More than $150,000 in prizes! The SolidWorks Design Contest provides SolidWorks users a great opportunity to win valuable prizes and share examples of your product design work with the entire SolidWorks community!

Prizes will be awarded for the Best Model. Prizes will also be awarded for the Best Image in each of these categories:

* General Designs
* Large Assemblies
* Complex Shapes
* Sheet Metal Designs
* Animations
* Production-level Drawings
* COSMOSWorks
* COSMOSMotion
* COSMOSFloWorks

KAP's Corner - CAD Productivity Tools Step-by-Step Book Review

When we asked guest columnist Art Woodbury to review the new Step-by-Step guides, he jumped at the chance to cover some new ground. Although he's been running SolidWorks since 98 Plus, the only one of these add-ins that he uses is Toolbox, so he looked at the guides as a real beginner. This month, he reviews the CAD Productivity Tools volume that covers FeatureWorks, SolidWorks Utilities and PhotoWorks. Check out KAP’s Corner - "This guide costs less than a dinner for two and can save several hours on the learning curve. Using the restaurant analogy, I’d give the guide 4 out of 5 stars." - Art Woodbury

Let's have a look at what's inside. CAD Productivity Tools Review
