Our History

1989
Founded by Dana Seero in Marblehead, MA as Computer-Aided Products, Inc. We were the major New England reseller of CADkey software until 1996, now known as KeyCreator.
1990
We obtained our first customer: Apple Pattern, now known as Mack Prototype, who has remained a valued customer to this day.
1990
Dana’s 110lb chocolate lab retriever named Chip became the unofficial “Director of Security” in the office for 8 years running. We have yet to find a replacement.
1994
Achieved $1 million in revenue.
1995
www.capinc.com was launched.
1996
Became a value added reseller (VAR) for SDRC software, and moved our headquarters to Peabody, MA. We were the largest single office VAR & authorized training center from 1996-2001, winning multiple support awards.
1998
Partnered with SolidWorks software as a value added reseller for New England.
1998
Started the consultant job shop/reference networking list.
2000
Free onsite CAPUniversity night school started in February. Later we included online webinars and seminars.
2001
Opened two new offices. One in Manchester, NH and one in Westborough, MA. All three offices are fully equipped authorized training facilities
2003
The 250,000th license of SolidWorks was sold to Dorel Juvenile Group; home to Safety 1st, a continued CAPINC customer.
2004
Became an exclusive reseller for the Stratasys line of Dimension 3D printers.
2006
Awarded number one in customer satisfaction and support by SolidWorks Corporation.
2006
Engineering Manager, Jason Pancoast, won first place in Model Mania at SolidWorks World 2006 and 2007. The competition is open to more than 1.5 million users worldwide.
2007
We rebranded from Computer-Aided Products, Inc. to CAPINC and released our new logo.
2008
Opened our fourth office in Meriden, CT and began offering free online technical webinars.
2008
Named to Inc 5000 as one of the fastest growing private companies in America for 2008, 2009 and 2010.
2008
Awarded number one in customer satisfaction and support by SolidWorks Corporation for the second time.
2010
Became an exclusive reseller for the Stratasys line of Fortus 3D production systems.
2010
Moved our Manchester, NH office to Auburn, NH.
