 See the electric bicycle! As a project for FutureTech, CAPINC put together an electric bike. It is a 21-speed mountain bike driven by a two speed brushless hub motor in the rear wheel, so that it can be peddled if desired. Power is from four 12V batteries. Further enhancements planned include a telescopic front fork, disc brakes, and a Lithium Ion battery pack.
CAPINC Applications Engineer Alan Zullo, an accomplished cyclist, supervised the project. The bicycle was provided by volunteers (who also completed the final assembly) at the Community Bicycle Center in Biddeford, ME. http://www.communitybike.net/ |
