Twisted Throttle

Twisted Throttle develops and distributes motorcycle accessories geared towards cross-country adventure touring, sport touring, and battle commuting.

We sat down with Product Designer, Nate Bastien at Twisted Throttle to see how he’s using SolidWorks. They’ve haven’t been using SolidWorks for very long, but already Nate has become quite proficient with the software and finds the user interface very intuitive.

Nate Bastien works on a Skid plate for the Kawasaki KLR 650 using SolidWorks.

This is a production prototype installed on the bike, designed in SolidWorks.

Twisted Throttle's skid plates are designed to protect the bikes engine, exhaust headers, water pump and other vital components. It's a valuable upgrade necessary to all riders that plan to take the bike off road. It's also important that the lines and styling of the skid plate are consistent with that of the bike. It's designed to be laser cut, CNC bended, with a riveted construction.
